Tommy Steck Memorial Scholarship Award
Overview:
The Lemont Little League has developed a program of scholarships in which it will award a $1,000 scholarship to two (2) deserving students that have participated in the Boys Junior or Senior Division or the Girls Senior Division of the Lemont Little League program.
Objective:
To financially assist young men and women with their college education and encourage former Lemont Little League players to strive for higher scholastic and athletic ideals.
Eligibility:
All candidates must be:
- High School Seniors
- Provisionally accepted as full-time students into undergraduate degree programs by an accredited junior college or full four year college
- A United States citizen residing within the State of Illinois
Entry Requirements:
The following is required of each applicant:
- An official application form
- A minimum of three (3) letters of recommendation. One letter must be from the student’s school guidance councilor and one must be from a non-related adult.
- An official transcript of the student’s high school record
- Official ACT or SAT test results
Awards:
The scholarship consists of a one-time $1,000 award, which must be used to pay for the student’s college expenses. The scholarship will be forfeited and must be repaid to Lemont Little League if the award is not directly used to pay college expenses.

Judging:
The Lemont Little League has the sole authority in the granting of this scholarship. The applicants are selected on scholastic achievement, recommendations, extracurricular activities, community leadership and a demonstrated interest in a productive educational and professional career. All applicants will be subject to personal interviews by Lemont Little League officials. All selections will be considered final. All applications and attachments become the property of Lemont Little League. All reasonable efforts will be made to keep applicant information confidential.
